U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary members are offering a boaters safety class from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 29 in the Jayhawk Room of the Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical building, 1911 Stewart Ave.
The course will cover rules and legal requirements of handling boats, boat emergencies, responsibilities when dealing with boats and water sports. It also will fulfill a state education requirement for younger boaters.
