Eudora man pleads guilty to aggravated battery

A 24-year-old Eudora man has pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated battery stemming from an April incident in which the man’s 4-year-old daughter suffered a broken arm.

Max A. Alcanter pleaded guilty Tuesday in Douglas County District Court, and he’s scheduled for sentencing Oct. 30.

Aggravated battery is a level-seven person felony. Alcanter’s attorney, at a previous hearing, said that Alcanter has no criminal history. Based on sentencing guidelines, Alcanter will most likely be sentenced to probation.
