Olathe ? Lawrence defeated Olathe North, 5-1, led by Robert Lyan’s two goals, one of which was assisted by goalkeeper Jeff Mekus.

Mekus played the game with a broken right hand, an injury which occurred in Lawrence’s last outing, a 2-2 tie at Blue Valley West. He got the cast on Tuesday.

Justin Riley, Ian Gabel and Conner Murphy scored Lawrence’s other three goals.

Lawrence led 3-0 at half.

The Lions (2-1-1) return to play Thursday at home against Shawnee Mission Northwest.
