To the editor:

The young people of Lawrence are doing wonderful things for our community. I would like to take this opportunity to lift up and applaud their successes. The Cordley School recently did a food drive for our Cornerstone Food Pantry. The children, parents and staff collected 71 boxes of food items. That’s a lot of food. One Saturday they went to Dillons grocery store and asked people to donate. Who could turn down a child? Evidently, no one did! The Cordley motto is “Cordley leads by the heart” and they are truly living up to that commitment.

I would also like to commend the Lawrence High football team and their backers. Each game day they have a team breakfast at Cornerstone. For the past three years, the boys have brought in food items each week. They have provided thousands of items to benefit the Lawrence community. They are winners all the way!!
