Color Run set for Saturday

So far, 6,800 people have signed up for The Color Run, a 5K run through Lawrence that promises to cover participants in a rainbow of colored powders.

The event begins at 3 p.m. Saturday on the corner of Ninth and New Hampshire streets and will loop around East Lawrence. At 4 p.m., runners and walkers will go through a series of checkpoints where they will be “blitzed” with colored powder. There will be a DJ as well as a beer tent and street performers at the finish line, which will close at 11 p.m.

Registration costs $50 for individuals and $45 for individual members of teams. Participants are required to wear a white shirt. Those interested in registering can do so online at Race packet pickup will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the former Borders building, 700 N.H.

My wife and car were trapped in east lawrence and i have go to work. This is terrible planning and rude beyond understanding to allow people to drive into an area and then block it off with no means of leaving . The LPD was called they said "sorry you can complain to the city council".
Thanks for stopping me from going to work City of Lawrence I can really tell you care about your money I mean citizens.
