Lawrence man arrested in connection with Oct. 18 Hy-Vee shotgun incident

A 29-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Thursday, accused of brandishing a shotgun during an Oct. 18 robbery outside of Hy-Vee, 3504 Clinton Parkway.

Lawrence police spokeswoman Kim Murphree said the man was arrested in Lawrence during a car stop about 4 p.m. Thursday. In the Oct. 18 incident, witnesses reported seeing a man with a shotgun on the east side of Hy-Vee around noon. The suspect fled in a vehicle. The victim in the case was not present when officers arrived but contacted police the next day and identified the suspect, Murphree said.

The suspect has yet to be charged, but was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery. Bond has not yet been set.
