KUMC candidates
To the editor:
I chair the committee undertaking the search for a new executive vice chancellor of the Kansas University Medical Center. Contrary to repeated claims in Lawrence Journal-World opinion pieces, at no point did our committee forward to Chancellor Gray-Little only one candidate. The committee was unanimous in its desire to identify both strong internal and external candidates. The chancellor has provided the search committee with complete autonomy in the conduct of this search, and the committee is pleased with the quality of the candidates that will be visiting the medical center this month.
