• For a fourth consecutive year, David Mattern, Lawrence, senior vice president and senior PIM portfolio manager at Wells Fargo Advisors, has been named a member of the firm’s Premier Advisors Program.

• Here are local winners of Peoples Bank’s 10th annual Peoples Promise Awards: Andrew Hansen, Store Manager of the Year, Lawrence; and Nancy Winter, Community Service Award, Lawrence.

• Karen Ely, physical therapist, has joined Lawrence Therapy Services.

• A Hazardous Occupation Training farm safety course will be offered May 1 and May 12 at Douglas County Extension Office, 2110 Harper St. The training is a legal requirement for anyone who is 14 or 15 and will work on a farm owned by anyone other than their parent or legal guardian.
