Lauren Byrn and Kristen Gile hit two-run doubles in the eighth inning, and Lawrence High’s softball team rallied past Shawnee Mission West, 9-8, to complete a season-opening sweep Tuesday at LHS. The Lions won the opener, 8-7.

Megan Wilson singled home Morgan Byrn to break a sixth-inning tie in the first game. Kenzie Garvin and Marly Carmona homered for the Lions.

Andre Mills homered for LHS in the nightcap.

The Lions (2-0) will play Thursday at Shawnee Mission Northwest.
