Naismith legacy

To the editor:

The passing of Ian Naismith is one that should be noted. He was one of a kind. Naismith took very seriously the honor and significance of his grandfather’s legacy. He enjoyed the exhibit at the Watkins Community Museum entitled “The Basketball Man” and came to see it frequently. He was a fierce, passionate man who always battled institutions and individuals who he thought were in the wrong. In the future, when his grandfather’s significance is more completely acknowledged, it will be because of his grandson’s persistence and dedication.
