Emporia ? Lawrence High placed second and Free State High third in the season-opening eight-team Emporia Swimming and Diving Invitational on Thursday at EHS.

The big city winner was Lawernce High’s Heather Cistola, who won the 200 individual medley (2:19.12) and 500 free (5:18.00) and swam with Annie Odrowski, Sarah Smoot and Miranda Rohn on the winning 400 free relay team.

LHS will swim again at home on March 27.

Free State will travel March 28 to Manhattan High.
