Legislation on track to get dinner train
Topeka ? The Kansas House on Monday advanced a measure that state Rep. TerriLois Gregory says is needed to bring a dinner train to run between Baldwin City and Ottawa.
“This is a rolling restaurant,” Gregory, R-Baldwin City, said.
House Bill 2689 would allow the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages on a railway car.
The Elkhorn Valley Railcar Co. in Nebraska has expressed an interest in operating a dinner train, Gregory said.
A final vote on the measure is expected on Tuesday.
