Topeka The Kansas House on Monday advanced a measure that state Rep. TerriLois Gregory says is needed to bring a dinner train to run between Baldwin City and Ottawa.
"This is a rolling restaurant," Gregory, R-Baldwin City, said.
House Bill 2689 would allow the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages on a railway car.
The Elkhorn Valley Railcar Co. in Nebraska has expressed an interest in operating a dinner train, Gregory said.
A final vote on the measure is expected on Tuesday.

I wonder how long it will take for somebody to bring a bunch of snakes on it so we can have a sequel to "Snakes on a Plane". I am pretty sure we can hire Samuel L. Jackson for about $10 an hour.

Hey TerriLois,
Make sure and explain to all your Bible-thumper supporters how important it was to make the demon alcohol even more available to us heathens.

Actually, this is the first thing she's legislated that I agree with. I guess it had to happen -sooner or later.

This is not a new issue. The Midland had some sort of dinner train years ago until the former idiot attorney general Vern Miller pulled one of his silly self-serving "raids". This was, of course, back when Kansas was "dtry" and Miller and his goons also raided an Amtrak train and got into the hair of the airlines who were serving liquor while flying over kansas.
