Right action

To the editor:

I would like to commend our police chief, Tarik Khatib, for doing the right thing in dealing with the ticket-fixing matter. Unlike the opinion stated in the Public Forum on March 5, I believe that if the leaders of our community are not held to the highest level of scrutiny, how can we expect anyone else to be held accountable for their actions? This is an issue of morals and ethics, something our society as a whole seems to be lacking. It is time for our leaders to send the message that this is not acceptable, and it starts right here at home!
