To the editor:

An enormous “thank you” to coach Self and his staff. Autumn has always been my favorite season, made even more so once I became a Jayhawk. The anticipation of the start of basketball season has me shrugging off all manner of disappointments every year, both Royal and Chief, and savoring a glorious hoops winter.

We’re so spoiled at the perpetual success of this program, I almost feel guilty. As this season commenced, I may well have been the most skeptical of loyal fans. Who could possibly expect so much from a squad that lost so much? But I did say that it would “be fun to watch how coach Self develops” them. What an understatement! The transformation of TRob is superhero-like; Tyshawn Taylor’s a force of nature; Withey became a beast; and whaddya know? Ho-hum, another Big 12 title!

From the head man to the last man on the bench and everyone involved with this year’s team, thank you ever so much and congratulations! What a wonderful winter it’s been!
