A pancake feed Saturday to benefit American Legion baseball in Lawrence drew nearly 650 people and raised more than $6,000, said Hank Sipple, finance officer for American Legion Post 14.

He said the Legion may schedule another pancake feed to raise more funds for baseball.

“It’s lower than we planned on,” Sipple said of the amount raised by the event.

Ed Mount, post commander, said post officials would soon discuss whether to schedule another fundraiser.

I'm sure what Mr. Sipple meant to say is; we are sure thankful for the 650 people that did come out to support legion baseball. We didn't quite reach our goal so we will entartain the idea of another fundraiser.

We were there. It did seem like a lower turn out this year.

Please schedule another one.....I missed out this year, but DEFINITELY would love to both support baseball in this community AND my pancake eating addiction.
