To the editor:

As a parent and former teacher, I would like to commend Dr. Wes Crenshaw and Miranda Davis for the column Double Take, printed in the Journal-World GO section on Mondays. They respond to issues that can be very painful to individuals and families by writing with concern, open-mindedness, tact and compassion. Their advice is neither condemning nor sugar-coated and faces directly the fragile nature of personal interaction.

Their columns and the news and feature reporting by the Journal-World staff is a positive counterbalance to the unbalanced, extremist, ethnocentric, homophobic screeching by some of the nationally syndicated columnists who appear on the editorial page.
