Emma Reaney 13th in 200 IM Olympic trials

Lawrence native Emma Reaney, a soon-to-be sophomore at Notre Dame, was one of 16 swimmers to advance to Wednesday night’s semifinals in the 200 individual medley at the U.S. Olympic trials in Omaha, Neb.

Reaney finished 13th overall in the semifinals, finishing in 2:15.51.

A Lawrence High graduate, Reaney came into the meet seeded 42nd in the event and had the ninth-fastest time, a personal-best 2:14.79, Wednesday afternoon in the prelims.

Her Olympic trials aren’t over, though. Reaney will swim Friday in the 200 breast prelims.
