Four city players on soccer squads

Four city players were honored this season on the Kansas Soccer Coaches Association’s all-state lists.

Free State High sophomore forward Maddie Dieker made the Class 6A first team. FSHS teammates senior midfielder Kylee Loneker and sophomore defender Olivia Hodison both received honorable mention.

Lawrence High senior defender Lauren Fleming also earned honorable mention.

Numerous area athletes also picked up all-state honors.

Mill Valley dominated 5A, with senior midfielder Lauren Gibson, junior midfielder Kayla Hamner and sophomore forward Abby Sieperda making the first team. Jaguars senior defender Emily Johnson, senior midfielder Kelsey Wakefield and junior defender McKenzie Koch received honorable mention.

Among the 4-1A honorees, De Soto juniors Allison Stanley and Michelle Keleher were placed on the first team.

DHS junior Amy Bilger received honorable mention, as did Tonganoxie sophomores Aly Bartholomew and Emily Soetaert.
