Sinking ship?

To the editor:

The Titanic’s sinking may be a tired metaphor, but Kansas’ new tax code may provide a new perspective on that age-old tragedy. Only in this instance, instead of filling the lifeboats, only one aristocrat is allowed per vessel. And with Brownback’s decisive victory, most of the folks in the freezing water voted for this outcome. The one good thing about this grand experiment may be that, once and for all, we should be able to prove that trickle-down economics hasn’t worked and maybe never will. I agree that government has wasted money in the past. Iraq comes to mind. Why does it seem that all government wants to accomplish these days is helping those who need the least help?
