City Band summer concert series wraps up for season
The Lawrence City Band summer concert series will end with several bangs Wednesday.
The grand finale concert, at 8 p.m. in South Park, will feature fireworks and howitzer cannons to go along with the 1812 Overture as well as music by John Philip Sousa. The band will also play favorites from the musicals “West Side Story” and “The Music Man,” plus some patriotic tunes. The event is free.
