Salute Winefest kicks off Thursday

Salute Winefest will once again have the wine flowing along Massachusetts Street and at the Oread Hotel.

The annual weekend event, which raises money for Cottonwood Inc., starts Thursday with the Mass Street Mosey, where an expected 600 ticket-holders will sample wine and food at businesses throughout downtown.

Tickets are already sold out for the Mosey, according to the Salute website, but are still available for the Friday and Saturday events.

A Winemaker Dinner, featuring wines from Buena Vista Winery, begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Friday at the Oread, 1200 Oread Ave. Tickets are $150 each.

The Grand Tasting and Auction is from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Oread. The event features samples of more than 250 wines and spirits, gourmet cuisine from Lawrence restaurants and caterers, a silent auction and a live auction. Tickets are $75 each, or $125 for access to the Reserve Room.
