A 32-year-old Lawrence man was sentenced Friday to serve one year on probation for threatening another man in August in downtown Lawrence.

District Judge Sally Pokorny ordered Taylor L. Roberts to serve 16 months in prison if he’s ever found to violate terms of his probation.

He was originally charged with of aggravated assault, making a criminal threat and two counts of disorderly conduct for using a handgun to threaten a 30-year-old Los Angeles man who was walking at 1 a.m. Aug. 11 in the 900 block of Massachusetts Street.
