Annual Eagle Day planned for Jan. 21 at Free State High School
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake and the Jayhawk Audubon Society are hosting a celebration of bald eagles in the area from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Free State High School, 4700 Overland Drive.
The event will “showcase” eagles through activities, information booths, demonstrations with live birds and field trips from Free State to Clinton Lake to spot birds in the wild, said Samantha Walker, natural resources specialist with the Army Corps.
Organizers will run free shuttles between the school and lake at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The event is free.
