Regarding your recent article on the use of pipeline embolization devices to treat cerebral aneurysms, kudos to the Kansas University Medical Center for having performed the first one in the state of Kansas. Regarding the statement about the metropolitan area, however, I would like to point out that St. Luke’s on the Plaza has been performing this treatment since at least 2003 when my initial embolization was done, and mine was certainly not the first such procedure performed there. St. Luke’s neurological service deserve a great deal of credit for their work pursuing this procedure through the years. Thank you for getting the word out about this treatment option.
