Musical delight

To the editor:

I just returned from the choral concert by local middle and high school students and it’s going to take a while for me to come down from the clouds. Extraordinary. I’ve always considered the music programs in the Lawrence schools to be outstanding, ever since attending programs my children participated in and continuing with my grandchildren, but I never dreamed I would see such a great program.

No doubt the gracious and talented help of the KU conductor had much to do with it, but it’s also a function of the wonderful group of dedicated music directors at the various schools, their work with their individual choral group and their cooperation with each other. And, yes indeed, those young women and men were great! Somebody please tell Gov. Brownback the arts are alive and well here and deserve a lot more support from him.
