A burglar entered an unlocked window at house in the 900 block of Louisiana Street on Thursday night and stole a television.

The crime was reported at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday, and the television was described as a 46-inch flat-screen valued at $500.

The Lawrence Police Department is still investigating the crime, said Kim Murphree, a Lawrence police spokeswoman.

One of these days we'll hear about a would be burglar who doesn't make it back out the window.

Leaving windows, doors unlocked is an invitation to burglars.

Giving away free televisions should eliminate the pain of having to steel one. There are too many people that do not have TVs! When will the madness stop? Lack of TVs are turning people towards the pain and suffering of having to get up out of their comfy home and take one from someone else. This is so wrong forcing someone to do this. What is the country coming to?

Free television should be given away immediately.
