To the editor:
It’s a dubious honor to reside in a state with two of the biggest grinches this Christmas season has to offer. I refer, of course, to the two U.S. senators from Kansas, Jerry Moran and Pat Roberts, who voted against the U.N. treaty for the disabled. Even the appearance of the beloved former Kansas Sen. Bob Dole in a wheelchair could not melt the hearts of these men who appear to have hearts made of ice. I doubt if there is a medical remedy for this particular affliction, short of a defeat at the polls.
Sen. Dole was a true leader, one who did not bow down to the radical elements in the GOP. Our present senators could learn something from this man of principle. I have a feeling he is shaking his head in disbelief, wondering what happened to his beloved Senate.
