KBA committee backs investments

The investment committee of the Kansas Bioscience Authority on Monday supported two grants, according to a news release.

The committee recommended approval of a $1 million grant to support the establishment of SynTech Laboratory Research Services in Stilwell.

The company, which provides research, development and testing services to the agriculture industry, expects to create 103 jobs with an average salary of $56,000 per year. The proposal now goes to the full board.

The committee also endorsed investing $73,097 in eNovation of Kansas City, Kan., for a rheumatology evaluation tool. This grant does not require action by the full board.
