Douglas County prosecutors charge Eudora man with two sex crimes

Douglas County prosecutors Friday filed two sex crime charges and two misdemeanor breach of privacy charges against a 36-year-old Eudora man, who was arrested earlier this month.

Eudora police on Aug. 6 arrested the man after receiving a report of an alleged incident involving a 15-year-old child. The alleged victim and suspect knew each other.

The man had posted $10,000 bond Aug. 6 and was given notice to appear in court Friday when judge set his next court date for Aug. 28. Prosecutors filed one count of aggravated indecent liberties and one count of indecent liberties against the man, alleging the crimes occurred April 1 through Aug. 1.

The breach of privacy charges allegedly occurred between Jan. 1 and March 31 and between April 1 and Aug. 1. He’s accused of entering a private place to either listen surreptitiously to private conversations or to observe another person.
