Free State baseball loses, 10-4

? Olathe South built a six-run lead in the first two innings and went on to defeat Free State, 10-4, on Tuesday night in high school baseball.

Olathe South scored four runs in the first, two in the second and one in each of the next four innings.

Montana Samuels had three of the Firebirds’ six hits, including a pair of doubles.

“Olathe South is a very fine baseball team,” FSHS coach Mike Hill said. “They swung the bats very well and they put a lot of pressure on us. We certainly did not play well, but they’re a very good team.”

FSHS State (7-7) will play host to Shawnee Mission Northwest at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
