Douglas County closing some roads for repairs

Several county roads in Douglas County will be closed for maintenance over the next couple of days.

On Friday, the Union Pacific Railroad will close a railroad crossing along East 1600 Road for maintenance. The crossing will be closed about a mile and a quarter south of U.S. Highway 24-40. The crossing will be closed for one day.

On Monday, the county will close a portion of North 1200 Road to through traffic between East 2200 Road and East 2300 Road. The section of road will be closed during daylight hours and a culvert will be replaced.

On Tuesday, Douglas County Route 1055, also known as Sixth Street in Baldwin City, will be closed to through traffic from Firetree Avenue south to U.S. Highway 56. The portion of road, which is being rebuilt, will be closed until early July.
