Drivers education class registration is Saturday
Enrollment for summer driver’s education instruction will be from 8:30 am. to 11 a.m. today at Free State High School, 4700 Overland Drive.
The Lawrence school district will offer two summer sessions. The class runs from May 31 to June 29. The first session will be from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the second session from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
To complete the course, students must pass 14 written tests and acquire the required driving skills.
Students must be 14 years old prior to the start of the course and must be present to enroll. At enrollment, students have to complete an enrollment form, an Instructional Permit and have a vision check. The cost of the course is $225.
Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis. About 150 teenagers are expected to sign up for the instruction.
