I did not see this game, but did have an email from a high school coach who observed the game. He thought that Free State played #6 ranked SM East even closer than the score would suggest. A loss is a loss, but there's an indication that this team is capable of holding it's own against the stronger programs. Now, they just have to win to establish that they're for real and not just close.

the team was unprepared to play first game on grass. Both goals in first 10 minutes. Lots of uninspired play from the 14 players who saw time. Barah couldn't get this team ready to play?! He can't use his bench to keep players fresh?! Injuries to tired players are the coach's fault. Only decent coaching move was to take the best mid-fielder on team out of defense for last 10 minutes - she scored on header.

This post seems odd? It says that the players lost cause they were tired, but that they gave up the first 2 goals in the first 2 minutes. Seems as if the girls got stronger as the game went on. Sounds like coach should do some things different to get them girls ready early. The injury was apparently a concussion from a collision on the field. How is that a fatigue issue? Also, I know at the home game I was at the defender who was listed as a scorer moves up for all there corner kicks. She probably scored on a corner or the the play stemming from a corner. This is really starting to sound like an angry parent. 3 posts all on the same girls soccer team. No one but parents care about womens soccer like that. haha I love america, it doesn't matter if a coach puts out a quality soccer TEAM as long as our kids play. Sad

I'm not a parent, but I care a great deal about women's soccer!

Curious "Real Deal" if you can support any of your comments with facts or are you just going to say you know what's best for the FS girls as opposed to a coach who played professional soccer in Europe? It seems to me that you're pining for the days when Coach P was at the helm and everyone played. I personally look at that coaching job as failure. Don't believe me? Well here's some numbers for you: 2009-2010 Record of Coach P (32 games) 9-21-2. Total FS goals scored vs let up 2009-2010 36 Scored vs 57 goals let up. 2011-2012 Record of Coach Barah (24 games) 14-8-2 Total FS goals scored vs let up 2011-2012 86 Scored vs 32 goals let up. In this year alone the team has scored 31 goals and let up 4 goals which by the way is 5 goals short of how many goals FS scored in the last two years of Coach P’s tenure. There record is 4-1-1 with both the loss and tie coming to two teams ranked in the top 5 in the entire state in any group. You keep complaining about playing time and I’ll keep supporting the all of the FS coaches, FS players and the FS girl’s soccer program.
