Kids Summer Fun Fair set for April 21

Families are invited to kick off the warmer season with the Kids Summer Fun Fair on April 21.

In its second year, this carnival-like event will have games, a scavenger hunt, hands-on activities, crafts, performers and demonstrations. The activities are designed for children from preschool to high school age.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21 at the Lawrence Community Building, 115 W. 11th St.

Along with activities for children, the event will have organizations on hand that offer camps, classes and special events for children this summer. Parents can register their children for the programs at the event.

Along with Lawrence Kids Calendar, participating organizations include Lawrence Arts Center, Pet World, Laugh Out Loud Family Zone, Theatre Lawrence, Dads of Douglas County, Lawrence Parks and Recreation, Bee Creative Studio and Meadowlark Music Together. More than 25 organizations will be there.

The event is free and open to the public. Families will receive a free tote bag and will be entered into a raffle to win prizes from participating organizations.
