When the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association released its All-State basketball teams, three city players made the cut.

Free State High girls senior guard Kennedy Kirkpatrick was the top honoree, making the first team for Class 6A.

From Seabury Academy’s boys team, sophomore guard Khadre Lane was named second team for 1A, and senior forward Georgi Funtarov received honorable mention.

Five area basketball players also were recognized by the KBCA. Ottawa boys junior Semi Ojeleye and Ottawa girls senior Jordan Baldwin made the 4A first teams, Mill Valley junior Nathan Stacy, 5A, and De Soto senior Mason Wedel, 4A, were boys second-team members, and Mill Valley girls junior Stephanie Lichtenauer was on the 5A third team.
