A judge Friday morning convicted a 47-year-old Eudora man after he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge as prosecutors agreed to dismiss two other felony aggravated assault cases he faced.

Bradley E. Goff entered the plea Friday after prosecutors had accused him in June of committing misdemeanor battery against an 11-year-old boy on June 19 in Eudora. Goff had also faced three more felony charges related to two other January incidents in which he was accused of swerving his vehicle at three people in Eudora.

Defense attorney Michael Tubbs said the plea agreement and dismissal of the felony charges was part of a global resolution with prosecutors. Chief Assistant District Attorney David Melton said as part of the probation terms Tubbs is prohibited from having contact with the boy and the three other victims in the felony cases that were dismissed.

District Judge Kay Huff sentenced Goff to serve one year on probation, and if he violates terms of his probation he could serve six months in jail.
