Bonner Springs ? Free State High senior Jake Walter scored two goals, and the FSHS boys soccer team toppled Bonner Springs, 2-1, on Thursday in the season opener.

“I think we played well on both sides of the ball,” Free State coach Kelly Barah said. “I think Jake brought a lot of energy to the table, but that was from the whole team as well.”

Free State (1-0) will play host to De Soto on Sept. 12.
