Douglas County prosecutors Thursday filed an aggravated battery charge against a 47-year-old Lawrence man accused of injuring his ex-girlfriend during a fight at a bar last weekend.

A judge Thursday set bond at $2,500 for Fredrick Reese during a court appearance. Lawrence police said Reese was accused of striking the 41-year-old Lawrence woman in the face with a glass about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, as she was leaving Cross Town Tavern, 1910 Haskell Ave.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries to her face. Reese’s next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday. He posted bond Thursday afternoon and was freed from jail.
