To the editor:

Greed. Wall Street and all Big Money interests are infected by it. Politicians — state and federal — are controlled by it. Greed will be the sin that destroys our democracy, just as it has every other attempt by the human animal to create civilized, caring societies.

When you ask our Republican representatives why they refuse to support the common working person, they point to their Grover Norquist pledge and say they can’t do anything without Grover’s approval. The fact is the Republican Party is using Grover as an excuse to continue to take contributions from the Big Money interests, under and over the table. The Big Money interests and their political puppets are controlling our nation. And Kansas with their supper conservative Republican delegation is among the worst offenders. Our Kansas delegation makes the tea party look like Jane Fonda liberals.

Our only hope is our vote. The only defense against greed is our capacity to elect honest representatives.
