Federal prosecutors accuse a 21-year-old Wichita man convicted in connection with a Lawrence robbery of selling two handguns to an undercover federal officer in Wichita both before and after he pleaded guilty in the Douglas County case.

According to court records, a federal grand jury in Wichita has indicted D’Andre M. Tomlin on two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, and, according to an affidavit that has been unsealed, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives alleges Tomlin sold a pistol to undercover officers Aug. 30 and another pistol to an undercover officer Sept. 9.

Tomlin on Sept. 6 pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted aggravated robbery for his involvement in a Dec. 2, 2010, robbery of three female Kansas University students at an apartment in the 1100 block of Louisiana Street. Prosecutors accuse Tomlin and co-defendants D’Andre Williams and Jerome DeShaun Tucker, also of Wichita, who have also pleaded guilty, of acting under the direction of former KU student Michael Hammond, who wanted to rob an alleged drug dealer. But the men went into the wrong apartment that night.

Hammond has also been sentenced to probation and 30 days in jail for the incident and attempting to commit a burglary the next night. Tomlin and Williams were scheduled to be sentenced Friday in Douglas County District Court, but it was unclear Wednesday if the hearings would proceed.

Tomlin faces a December trial in the federal case.
