Emporia — Free State High went 4-2 and Lawrence High was 3-3 at the Emporia Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.
FSHS (17-13) beat Junction City, 25-23, 14-25, 25-20; lost to Shawnee Heights, 25-18, 25-17; defeated Shawnee Mission North, 25-20, 25-13; defeated Pittsburg, 25-17, 25-19; lost to Maize, 14-25, 25-20, 25-23; and beat LHS, 25-18, 25-20.
The Lions (11-19) beat Pittsburgh, 24-14, 25-20; lost to Topeka Seaman, 25-21, 26-24; beat Emporia, 25-22, 25-10; lost to Washburn Rural, 25-17, 25-10; defeated Junction City, 25-21, 21-25, 25-23; and lost to Free State, 25-18, 25-20.
Lawrence’s Brea May had 121 assists, Monica Howard had 46 kills and 42 digs; Kailey Wingert had 32 digs, Caitlin Broadwell contributed 35 kills and seven blocks, and Krista Costa added 26 kills and seven blocks.
