No transparency

To the editor:

I read in Sunday’s paper that our beloved governor has formed a task force to reorganize tax policies in Kansas. So sorry, the names of the members on the task force are a state secret. So sorry, what their backgrounds are and what stake they have in the outcome is a state secret. The only transparency is that they  have no interest in bipartisan consultations until the bill is ready to be voted upon (read: shoved down our throats).

The $75,000 fee for advice from an expert on supply-side economics is like asking my barber if I need a haircut. What’s he going say? “No”? This autocratic regime’s policies continue to smell like the same garbage coming out of the Republicans in Washington. Lower taxes for the rich to produce jobs. Don’t worry, the money will trickle down. What could possibly go wrong? One day, when we look back on the mess Brownie is making of our lives, we just may ask, “How could we have let him do that?” What happened to open meeting laws?
