Indiana man treated, released from LMH after three-vehicle accident on I-70

An Indiana man was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a three-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon on Interstate 70 east of the Lawrence Service Center, according to the Kansas Turnpike Authority. Belinda Rehmer, an LMH spokeswoman, said Michael A. Pitt, 55, of Evansville, Ind., was treated and released from the hospital. Pitt was taken there after the accident that occurred at 3:45 p.m. Sunday. According to the accident report, Pitt was rear-ended in his Honda car by a motor home driven by Jeffrey M. Smith, 50, of Edgewood, N.M. Pitt and the driver of another vehicle had slowed in the westbound lanes for traffic in the construction area when they were rear-ended by the motor home.
