Funerals set for 3 killed in Kan. elevator blast
TOPEKA ? Funerals for three victims of a northeast Kansas grain elevator explosion are scheduled for later this week.
The blast Saturday killed six people at a Bartlett Grain Co. elevator in Atchison, about 50 miles northwest of Kansas City.
The first funeral scheduled is for 21-year-old Bartlett employee Ryan Federinko, of Atchison. It’s scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home in Atchsion.
A Mass for 24-year-old Bartlett employee John Burke, of Denton, is set for 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Bendena, north of Atchison.
A service for 20-year-old Bartlett employee Chad Roberts, who graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 2010, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka.
