Charges filed against Franklin County men accused of Lawrence armed robbery

Douglas County prosecutors Monday alleged two Franklin County men were armed with an Uzi during a February robbery of a Lawrence resident.

Prosecutors filed aggravated robbery and kidnapping charges against Trenton T. Rowsey, 19, of Ottawa, and Mikael D. Englund, 22, of Richmond, in connection with a Feb. 4 incident in which a Lawrence man alleged two people held him at gunpoint at his residence in the 800 block of Hilltop Drive and stole marijuana, cash and an iPod form the residence.

Prosecutors also charged Englund related to a March 14 incident in which the same victim alleged several people robbed him with a handgun at the residence and stole a laptop computer and Xbox video game system. Prosecutors also accused Englund of striking the victim in the face and threatening the man from telling police about it.

Englund faces charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery and aggravated intimidation of a victim in connection with that case.

Rowsey and Englund were scheduled to appear before a judge Monday afternoon. Englund was arrested Friday in Ottawa, and Rowsey was arrested there later and brought to Douglas County Saturday. Lawrence police have said a juvenile is also in custody as a suspect.

A judge Monday kept bond for both men at $75,000, cash or surety. Both men are scheduled to appear in court again May 19.
