Wow, what happened? Be nice to have a little more coverage than two sentences.

Hey....at least they covered. (Or at least the coach reported it.)

Here's a short description.

It was a bad night for everyone on the field except Ellena Auer. She made some tremendous saves, but when field players become spectators, even a good goalkeeping effort can go for naught.

Free State opened without Annie Libeer in the defensive line. Errors were made all over the place, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Olathe East simply out-played and hustled the Firebirds. On offense, there would be some really good passes, directly to the opposing team. It almost looked like Free State knew they were playing one of the top teams in the State and the plan was to make them look that way.

Olathe East had several beautiful offensive plays and Free State didn't respond well. You can't give up easy goals to that team. They're sharks on the pitch and jumped on everything they could.

A collective loss; a sobering defeat; a team humbling. Free State looked and played badly. Regroup, then play like they're capable and win on Thursday must be their goal.
