A 24-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Saturday evening after threatening people with a metal rod.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Dave Hubbel, the incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Vermont Street. Hubbel said the man threatened some people he did not know in the area. The people threatened contacted the police and the man was booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of aggravated assault.

There were no injuries reported during the incident.
