Offensive
To the editor:
At the recent Republican presidential debate Rick Santorum said he had “taken bullets” for the pro-life cause. Given that several courageous doctors, like Dr. George Tiller of Wichita, have been murdered, with real bullets, for providing women with legal abortions, Santorum’s remark, obviously meant only figuratively, is profoundly offensive.
My thanks to the ACLU and Steven Singular, the author of “The Wichita Divide,” for their encouragement to speak out about the current assault by Republicans and other radicals on women’s rights.
