Douglas County prosecutors have filed two charges against a 20-year-old Lawrence man accused of having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.

Lawrence police arrested the man Thursday afternoon in the 1800 block of East 23rd Street in connection with an investigation that began June 2 based on a call from a parent, who alleged the man had inappropriate sexual relations with the girl May 21 in northeastern Lawrence.

Prosecutors charged the man Friday with aggravated indecent liberties with a child and with criminal sodomy with a child through fondling or touching, according to court records.

A judge Friday set his bond at $35,000 and scheduled his next court appearance for June 13. The man was also arrested on a warrant from the Kansas Department of Corrections. According to the KDOC, the suspect had been on parole since February after serving about one year in prison on several theft and burglary convictions in Douglas County.
